That is ane heck of a "anvil"!
level 2
It serves its purpose and it's heavy enough to not bounce effectually when I'grand pounding metallic. But information technology is by no means as versatile equally the true anvils used past real blacksmiths. Merely I am merely to hobbyist/tinkerer so it'll do.

Isn't this particular forge design inefficient? Pocket-size, square sleeping accommodation with a completely open up end. Seems to be contrary to recommended home made forges with a cylindrical sleeping room with a smaller opening at the end.

Good question. I built the forge for the video. I made it open so that I could show what was happening. When I brand something I configure the forge and then that I can practise the job with as piffling sleeping accommodation volume equally possible. Makes for more efficient use of propane, and a hotter chamber which causes a more even distribution of the rut.

Very interesting thought, do y'all happen to know why the blue flame is the coldest part of the burn?
level 1
I'm not sure who's right or wrong in this merely in my forge, a ii burner Regal, the point of the blue flame appears to me to be where I attain the quickest heating of my metal.
level 2
Two burner. Are they parallel to one another or or are they crossed then that the flames meet at some point?
level 2
That'due south because that's the point where the gas is hottest; the indicate of 'total' combustion. Anything further out is cooling, annihilation further in notwithstanding has unburned absurd fuel and air waiting to combust.
